- SIWAtec at Digital X 2022 in Cologne -
SIWAtec was present with Deutsche Telekom IoT as a partner on September 13th, 2022 at the Digital X 2022 in Cologne at a panel talk about sustainable and digital water and civil protection. Frank Schlichtherle and Javier Marti were interviewed by Frauke Holzmeier and Ariane Elena Fuchs.
Among other things, it was about the use of SIWAtec containers for the treatment of industrial or drinking water. And about The role of the IoT connection for the function and monitoring of the SIWAbox from SIWAtec - especially in extreme events, such as disaster areas. And how quickly can containers be installed?
SIWAbox enables a decentralized, safe and high-quality water supply, even in previously underdeveloped or remote areas. It reduces water loss during transport and lowers water pumping and infrastructure costs. Solar power and energy recovery are used for sustainable and green water production. An IoT system developed in cooperation with Telekom is used for this purpose, which means that support from local service partners and the German headquarters can be guaranteed at all times. Predictive maintenance, spare parts supply and interactive maintenance support are top priorities. The SIWAbox is prefabricated and pre-tested in Germany. Therefore, the implementation can take place in the shortest possible time and the water supply can begin.
3 x 425 m³/h boiler feed water unit for the world's largest fertilizer is running
The Demin water unit for the Ma'aden Fertilizer Complex in Saudi Arabia is now running. After the commissioning of the plant now the boiler feed water unit is producing 3 x 425 m³/h total demineralized boiler feed water with a conductivity < 0,08 µS/cm.
The client will deliver with the complete fertilizer complex up to 20% of the world market volume of mineral fertilizer. The SIWAtec boiler feed water unit is part of also the world's largest sulphuric acid production unit and can produce up to 850 m³/h demineralized water continiously with excellent quality.
The boiler feed water unit is installed in a 34 x 22 m building. 2 x 5000 m³ demin water tanks are installed outside the building in stainless steel tanks. The deliverytime from placing the contract to delivery on board took about 12 month. As one of the first units in operation the boiler feed water unit was started in the end of 2010 after 4 weeks of commissioning.
SIWAtec delivered the complete plant control with connection to the DCS, all measuring instruments and also the chemical storage and dillution and the discharge of the waste water.
During commissioning the clients employees were trained theoretically and practically in operation of the plant, maintenance and troubleshooting.

Siwatec Contracted for Water Reprocessing in Europe's Largest Power Plant
RWE Power has contracted us for the engineering and delivery of the dosing units for ammonia and oxygen as well as of what is known as a carbon recovery unit for the brown coal power plant in Neurath, Germany.
We supply one preparation and dosing unit for ammonia for 2 different operation modes as well as one oxygen dosing unit for the water-steam-cycle per block. The carbon recovery unit cleans waste water contaminated with coal dust and recycles the coal dust to the combustion process. The cleaned water is available for cleaning processes once again.
